Oh Christmas Tree
I love Christmas more than any other holiday because of the bright colors, the lights, the decorations, and the joy. However, the Christmas tree is my greatest achievement during the Christmas season and is the most important part of my holiday tradition. When I was very young my parents divorced and my mom didn’t remarry until the summer before middle school, but that first Christmas we all went to the Christmas tree farm together, as a family to pick the perfect tree.
DE-STRESS, you just have to!
Let me start out by saying I am not a Yogi and by no means a master of yoga, I like to use yoga as a way to de-stress my mind and body. Don’t get me wrong I would love to be a yogi, but for now I’ll just dabble. Sometimes stress gets the best of me and I find myself becoming somewhat hostile to those around me, i.e. Jack and I am sorry for that, so yoga or any form of working out for that matter gets me back on track. I know everyone thinks they do not have time to workout, but seriously even 20 minutes can help you manage some of the stress that comes with everyday life. I have not always found fitness to be an important part of my life, but ever since my uncle had a heart attack a couple of years ago I realized how important physical activity needed to be in my life.
Huntin’, fishin’, and lovin’ every day
Over Labor Day weekend I went to Rivers West Ranch which Jack’s family owns, and this place is incredible! I have been going to this ranch since I was in high school, yet so many things have changed. This place has now become a wedding venue, retreat, and a hunters dream, and when I go, I like to let my inner country girl run wild. Labor day weekend is the opening for dove season, so that was the key part of our trip.
Huntin', fishin', and lovin' every day
Morning walks with Germ and Harry
This morning my alarm went off “early” to walk my rescue pup and after being on vacation for an entire week my body was screaming NO! I hit the snooze button and continued to rest my sleepy eyes for about 30 MINUTES….way too long. After waking up in a panic thinking “Oh wow I have got to get my act together” I quickly dressed and was out the door.
30A for a week
I just got back from a vacation in Florida with the family I used to nanny, the Jacobs who have three children that have impacted my life dramatically. I love this family like they are a part of me and they will always be in my life. Twin girls, Gwen and Amelia, and Hank “The Doodle” had the most amazing time and it was the ladies first time to be at the beach. I can’t even express to you the amount of energy they were able to sustain but having the right activities was KEY!
